What’s the story?
Any reopening of the deserted district of Famagusta – Varosha, in the future gives a unique opportunity to learn from history and rebuild for a better future. The risks are great but with rebuilding Varosha with the two Cypriot communities both Greek & Turkish while promoting peaceful coexistence within an “ecocity”, this the project aims at environmental sustainability, economic prosperity and peace building thrown in for good measure. The participants in this project run the gamut of interested parties both local and international – artists, architects, economists, permaculture designers, economists (let’s hope they are not educated at the London school of economics) , business owners, city planners, horti, agri and all culturists, engineers, and more.
